PSMS Protect Program in Overwatch 2
Blizzard’s SMS Protect program allows players to safely connect their mobile devices to their Battle.net account. However, some users have received a message stating they need to enter a “post-paid phone number” to access certain games, like Overwatch 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. That being said, you may wonder, what is a post-paid phone number? Post-paid cellular plans are contract-based and are typically charged on a monthly billing cycle. So, for example, companies like AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile are compatible with Overwatch 2’s SMS Protect as long as you have a contract with them. Unfortunately, those who don’t have a post-paid cellular device won’t be able to play Overwatch 2 because these networks aren’t covered in this system. These services include Cricket, Mint Mobile, and Spectrum Mobile, which are pay-as-you-go programs. As of right now, there is no possible solution to this issue since there is no indication that Blizzard will change this plan. Therefore, we’ll have to see if the company will eventually adjust the program to allow post-paid mobile device users to play these games. That does it for our guide on what is a post-paid phone number in Overwatch 2.
